People in the Gampaha District who want to obtain National Identity Cards for the first time or those who want to obtain replacements for their lost or disfigured NICs can do so quickly through the Police station nearest to their place of residence within the District, a Ministry release said.

On the initiative of the Minister of Interior John Amaratunga, a special Mobile Service to issue identity cards through the 32 police stations within the Gampaha District has been launched by the Department of Registration of Persons in collaboration end of September 7 and 8.
