'A World of Peace', theme at BPW Congress

by ANJANA GAMAGE

Applications are now being received by the Business and Professional Women of Sri Lanka from suitable candidates to participate at the 24th Business and Professional Women's (BPW) Congress scheduled to be held from October 3 to 9 at the Melbourne Convention Centre in Australia.

" A World of Peace" will be the theme this year and, according to the BPW President in Sri Lanka, Mrs. Meththa Kodikara, the topic is more important to Sri Lanka as peace is looming large after a crucial war for so many years.

According to the past President of BPW Sri Lanka, Mrs. Janaki Gunawardena, a delegation of twenty women participated at last year's conference held in Canada with several Sri Lankan women obtaining international business opportunities. This year's conference is assisted by several women throughout the world with new ideas and concepts. Those interested can send their applications to the BPW office, No. 55, Buthgamuwa Road, Welikada, Rajagiriya or e-mail to [email protected]
