Autocross at Airport Garden Hotel today

Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC) will be hosting the second CMSC Autocross at the Airport Garden Hotel in Seeduwa today.

The CMSC in conjunction with Suzuki, Exide and Citroen are conducting this event. Brown and Co. Ltd will be sponsoring this Autocross for the second successive year. Speaking at the press briefing at the Airport Garden Hotel, Yohann Lawrence of the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC) said that the aim of the Autocross is to provide driving skill for competitors and their families to have a lot of fun and a day out at the Hotel.

N. Thambapillai, General Manager of the Hotel said that the Hotel will provide all the entertainment. Ashok Fernando, Sales Manager, Taj Airport Garden Hotel said that the Hotel is committed to encouraging Sports and especially travel trade sports.

Last year's winner of the event was D. Dissanayake. There will be eleven categories for the Autocross with 40 entries.

The event is open to standard to modified cars, jeeps, double cabs etc. The track surface at the Airport Garden Hotel combines both tarmac and gravel, which makes it more interesting and challenging for the competitor. (P.J.)
