Colombo new destination for Czech Airline Czech Republic Official Airline will launch direct flights between Prague and Colombo from October. While Jetwing Air (Pvt.) Ltd. has been appointed as the General Sales Agent for Czech Airlines in Sri Lanka, the inaugural flight is scheduled for October 29. CSA will operate twice weekly via the route prague - Dubai - Colombo. With the commencement of Czech Airline flights to Colombo it becomes the only "Sky Team" member Airline to operate to Colombo; its newest and only destination in Asia. CSA is a member of the "Sky Team" global alliance, which comprises Czech Airlines, Air France, Delta Airlines, Korean Airlines, Alitalia and Aero Mexico serves in over 60 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, USA and Canada and Colombo in its network at present. Flights will depart Prague on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1.10 p.m. and arrive in Colombo at 5.20 p.m. the following day. The return flights will take off from Colombo every Wednesday and Saturday at 9.15 a.m.,arriving in Prague at 4.05 p.m. the same day. Czech Airlines' renowned services, global alliances and strength in the European market combined with the stature and reputation of Jetwing in the international market, would enhance tourism in Sri Lanka. The Colombo Dubai sector of the Czech Airlines flights will be of great assistance in reducing the heavy Middle East traffic. The operation of CSA would also provide additional cargo capacity to the export industry enabling transshipment of cargo to destinations in the Middle East, Europe, the USA and Canada.
