Golden Clef Awards 2002 for the Western Music Industry of Sri Lanka The Sunday Observer's new look Golden Clef Awards 2002 programme which will recognise quality in actual performance and encourage fresh new talent breaks into the scene from tomorrow, Monday, September 9. Band leaders, singers and musicians who are competing in the ten prestigious categories, can now make formal application for nominations. The application form containing all the relevant details could be collected from the ANCL Reception from 9 a.m.-11.00 p.m. This special provision has been made with the musicians in mind, so that they could collect the forms even after 4.30 p.m. To enable those musicians who play gigs till midnight, the Golden Clef Awards application forms will be available at the ANCL Transport Division, Security Office, the entrance to which is opposite the Regal cinema end. Application forms will also be available at the ANCL Branch Offices in Kandy at 22, Dalada Veediya and in Anuradhapura at 310, 1/2 Harischandra Mawatha, New Town. In Kurunegala the application forms could be collected from the ANCL News Agent Mr. W. P. A. Pathirana at 156, Puttalam Road. Reaching the top rung in music is winning the Golden Clef Awards. There is no doubt about it. Who will hit the top. That will be the grand moment musicians will treasure and remember for the rest of their lives. Every single band, singer and instrumentalist is definitely in star category - excellent entertainers loaded with talent and versatility - and the Golden Clef is the best thing that has happened to the music industry. |
