In the 15th week of the Caltex-Observer sponsored 'Most Popular Rugby Club 2000' Contest, Army polled 218 votes to total 2151 to remain at the top spot, a status the soldier club justified by knocking the sails off CR & FC last week to enter the final of the Caltex Knockout Tournament.

CR & FC continued to occupy second place, polling 121 votes for a total of 1814. Old Zahirians remain in third position with 386 votes.

In the 'Most Popular Ruggerite' Contest, CR & FC's C. S. Jayasinghe continued to lead, polling 169 votes for a total of 1,631 votes. Meanwhile, Army's Ajith Peiris, who had 116 votes for a total of 1054 votes gets into second place at the expense of fellow club mate T. A. Silva who polled 09 votes for a total of 914.

All readers please note that coupon No. 17 will be the last coupon to be published in the competition. The Most Popular Ruggerite and Most Popular Rugby Team contest ends on September 19.
