Dhanatunge to work with ICC

Shashi Dhanatunge, Director Administration of the BCCSL, has been chosen by the International Cricket Council for secondment to the ICC Headquarters in London for six months, starting in November 2002. He will initially be working as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Mr. Malcolm Speed. This will enable Dhanatunge to participate and contribute in the many activities surrounding the prestigious ICC World Cup 2003, which is to be held in South Africa.

Dhanatunge joined the BCCSL in January 1999 as Management Co-ordinator, and then took up the dual posts of Administrative Secretary and Manager Tour Organizing. He was subsequently appointed Director Administration.

During the under-19 World Cup 2000, Dhantunge served as a member of the "ICC Technical Panel" and the "Steering Committee".

Dhanatunge is the second member of the BCCSL's management to be chosen for the ICC secondment scheme. Manager Coaching and Development Jerome Jayaratne returned in August after six months with the ICC's Development Division in London.
