Archbishop commends Dr. Jayalath

"I am very happy to hear that the Irish International University (IIU) (European Union) is offering an Honorary Professorship of Emeritus to Hon. Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena, Minister of Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Refugees, Roman Catholic Archbishop Oswald Gomis said in a message.

"We are happy that as a Catholic, he undertook this difficult mission and laboured strenuously extending his services to all distressed people irrespective of their race, caste and creed. Sarvodaya Movement leader Dr. A. T. Ariyaratne, said:

"On behalf of Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka and on my personal behalf I wish to congratulate Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena.

"My association with Dr. Jayawardena has been for over twenty five years. In him I saw a young doctor, a dedicated social worker and committed peace activist long before he took to politics.
