S. Thomas' and Visakha u-20 waterpolo champs

S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia and Visakha Vidyalaya emerged boys and girls under-20 champions respectively in the 12th All-Island Inter-School Knockout Waterpolo Tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association and held at the Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool last Sunday.

The Thomians defeated arch rivals and defending champions Royal by 6 goals to 3 in the final, after leading in all four quarters.

The holders Visakha Vidyalaya retained the under-20 girls title, beating Ladies College by 3 goals to 1 in the final.

Meanwhile, Royal took the boys under-15 title with a close win over S. Thomas' by 2 goals to 1.

Visakha Vidyalaya clinched a good 'double' when their under-15 side overcame St. Bridget's Convent 1-nil.S. Thomas' College and Visakha Vidyalaya received the challenge trophies donated by Velona Group of Companies.

Royal and Visakha Vidyalaya were presented challenge trophies donated by Ashley de Vos.

Asoka Senanayake, President, Sri Lanka Schools Aquatics Sports Association was the chief guest.
