Oratorical contest on International White Cane Day "Rights of visually handicapped", an oratorical contest and presentation of skills by the visually handicapped, have been organised by the Lions Clubs International District 306B, Region IV, Zone II clubs, in collaboration with the Vocational Training Center at Liyanagemulla, Seeduwa and will be held at the Vocational Training Center Auditorium at Seeduwa today, October 13 from 2.30 p.m. onwards, to mark the "International White Cane Day" which falls on October 15. Governor of the District 306B, Sri Lanka, Lion O'Regan Pinghe and the Vice District Governor, Lion Dr. Rohan Perera, will be the chief guest and the guest-of-honour respectively. Lions Clubs in the Region IV, Zone II, will donate white canes and necessary utensils to the vocational training center to be used for the welfare of the students of the center to mark the occasion. |
