Seven players to follow waterpolo referees course in Bangkok

Seven past players have been selected to follow a FINA conducted waterpolo referees course to be held from November 1 to 4 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The seven players who will follow the course are: C. C. Bamunuarachchi (Police), the NAASU Waterpolo Controller, Mahinda Liyanage (RCUAC), Ranmal Kodituwakku (Police), Devaka Thabrew (Old Thomian Swimming Club), Fareed Noor Ameen (RCUAC), Athula Senaratne (Galle Swimming Club) and Jayantha Hettiarachchi (Polhena Swimming Club, Matara).

According to a senior NAASU official, the seven selected will have to bear the expenses for the trip and NAASU will not be funding any individual. Three NAASU officials N. K. R. Bamunuarachchi of Sri Lanka Air Force, Kithsiri Dayananda of Sri Lanka Police and E. J. Rodney Silva of Fishtail Aquatic Club will attend a FINA conducted swimming referees clinic to be held from October 21 to 25 in Bangalore, India. These three officials were selected by the executive committee of NAASU and here too, all three have to bear all expenses.

Meanwhile the names of the seven officials to Thailand and the three officials to India have been approved by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
