DJ Kanchana
enjoys Scooby Doo

A mobile DJ who would have liked to have been a musician - he plays keyboards - DJ Kanchana heads 'Style Beat' an entertainment company in Nugegoda, that handles commercial productions and promotions. A product of Trinity College, Kandy, DJ Kanchana says if he had the opportunity to rule the world he'd stop the wars, develop third world countries and encourage women to compete with men in jobs.

Name: DJ Kanchana (Kanchana Mudalpath)
Birthday: March 27
Status: Single
Fav colour: White

Trendy outfits: It depends on the occasion. I usually wear lot of casual clothes. Since I deejay into the early hours of morn, I like to be comfortable.

Hair do's: I like to have my hair short with no fuss.

Fav songs of '80s and '90s: '80s - The Tavares hit 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel' and from the 90's 'Fresh' by Kool and the Gang.

Qualities you are looking for in your future wife: She has to be understanding and like the music, I play. She must know to cook well and run a house too.

What's your pet hate: I don't like moody guys. Guys who find it difficult to smile and be friendly. What's your meaning of life: Life is a challenge. Life is short. Money is not a big consideration in my life. I like to help others and be peaceful in my relationship with others.

Who do you admire in life: My father, for all his advice and encouragement in my life, my marketing career and even in my DJ work. He helps me in getting me equipment for deejaying as well as transporting the equipment around. I live with my parents and my two brothers and it makes me happy to share our love for one another.

Where would you like to be most now: In the States - because the entertainment scene is exciting and varied.

Are you a CD or vinyl DJ: At the moment I use CDs and vinyls. Vinyls are the best for real professional work - mixing and scratching. CDs are easy to carry around and not so expensive as vinyls. Is it talk or segue for you: No. I don't talk much. Sometimes its better. Some dancers don't like talking for long.

Fav music: R&B - like Ashanti and Mary J. Blige.

Fav DJ: Fat Boy Slim.

Do you cook: I can make a cup of tea, fry an egg and turn out instant food!

Do you belong to the gym syndrome: Yes. I have a machine at home. I also work out for an hour a day.

What would you have liked to have been in a past life: A bird enjoying freedom.

The worst hit song: 'Hey Baby I Want to Know If You'd be My Girl' by DJ Ottzi.

Your fav cartoon character: Scooby Doo and Woody Woodpecker. I still watch them. Are you a dreamer by nature: Yes I am. I dream about what I will be and who I will be in the future. Every person must have a dream.

What do you think life would be like in the year 3000: Technology would be high. Lifestyles would be fast. People would be travelling in planes and cars would be further computerised.
