Fortieth anniversaryof Medicina Alternativa

This year the 40th Anniversary of Medicina Alternativa will be celebrated worldwide in 140 countries. A Wold Congress of Integrated Medicine will be hosted from the 27th November to 30th November, 2002, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall to celebrate this event. The main offices and clinical facilities of Medicina Alternativa International are located at Kalubowila in Sri Lanka.

After the scientific sessions The World Congress, on the first of December, 2002, the delegates will be escorted on a post-congress field workshop to Kitulgala, where they will visit the habitat of the Balangoda Man (Homo sapiens sapiens Balangodenis) who over thirty thousand years ago at the Beli Lena Cave, the pre-historic Balangoda Man of Sri Lanka practised healing with helps mantrams, thantrums and acupuncture coupled/trans-continental with moxibustion (vidum-pillissum).

Medicina Alternativa has also created a unique multistar luxury hotel in the vicinity which will be officially open to visitors on the 1st of December, 2002.

Foreign guests, invited to preside at this World Congress are the distinguished Albert Schweitzer prize laureate Prof. Dr. Sir, Maser Luong Ming Dang and his Lady Prof. Dr. Dame Theresa Dang. A special top of the range Mercedes Benz has been brought down for the first time to Sri Lanka by Medicina Alternativa to provide luxury transport, with all security, for them.

Delegates from over 140 countries have been invited to Sri Lanka for this World Congress and 120 selected scientific papers and twenty-two workshops will be presented in the four days of the scientific sessions while chairperson of the Congress Prof. Anton Jayasuriya will present his 60th publication "The Harms that Doctors do to Patients". Free clinics to treat all indigent patients will be held at The Medicina Alternativa clinics, led by consultant Prof. Dr. Sir Ravi Ponniah of UK and Prof. Dr. Dame Linda Lancaster of USA. Patients who are in need of medical investigations abroad will be flown by Medicina Alternativa to UK by courtesy of Sir Ravi.

Dr. P.R. Anthonis will be decorated with the King Buddhadasa Golden Hands Supreme Award. The first person to be decorated with this prestigious award was the Late Prof. Christiaan Bernard.
