IPM launches unique scheme

'Young Member Forum of the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) has launched an innovative programme ,to help young managers to acquire finer skills and broaden their knowledge to be a major player in their business management endeavours.

The programme known as "The Millennium Human Resources Manager" consisting of five modules during a one year duration, as targets fast track diplomates in Human Resources Management/Development positions as well as those with equivalent qualifications and experience. The concept is derived from Dave Ulrich's HR Champion model according to the course director Gamaini R. De Silva.

The applicants should possess a Diploma in HR Management at IPM level, those who have completed a diploma course of an equivalent standard with five years experience or those with equivalent or higher qualifications and experience. Selection will be through a viva voce.

The module includes team building and leadership programme, cross functional expertise for effective HR management, speech craft, communication, change management agent and management expectations of HR in strategic partnering. The course commences in December this year and those who are interested may contact IPM for more details.
