Piano solo concert

Another evening of jazz awaits you on Tuesday November 26 when the Goethe Institut of Colombo presents Dieter Koehnlein in a piano solo concert, at the Lionel Wendt Theatre at 7 pm. Dieter Koehnlein will be coming in to Sri Lanka after his performance at the International Jazz Yatra Festival held the previous week at Mumbai India. Koehnelein's piano artistry has been reviewed as being rare for European standards.

His ability to merge ballad style with hard rhythmics and improvisation is his big asset as a creative and sensitive pianist in a modern scene. Dieter has worked intensively as a soloist since 1990, has given numerous solo concerts at home and abroad, many of them recorded by radio and television.

His latest CD titled 'Three Faces' is a classic example of his creative expression. Last year his concerts in Algiers and Tunis were well received and so too his appearances at many festivals in Europe as well as in Mexico City. There will be a second concert by him at the Mahaweli Reach Kandy on Wednesday November 27 at 7.30 pm. Make a date with Dieter if you are a lover of elegant piano music. The box plan is at Lionel Wendt Theatre for the Colombo concert.
