CLEMENTS ­ WILLIAM BENJAMIN (Benny)   passed away peacefully on 6 December 2002 in Melbourne Australia. Loving husband to Girla; loved father, father-in-law and grandfather of Annesley, Nimma & Shehan, Anne, Ian & Joanne, Noeline & Melroy, Annel, Desiree, Dan & Bonita. His funeral service and cremation was held on 12 December in Melbourne. A friend to many, he will always be in our hearts.

JOSEPH JACOMUTHU   (Joseph Master) formerly Vice-Principal of Mannar St. Xavier’s College, passed away peacefully on Friday 13th December 2002 in Canbera, Australia. He is the beloved husband of the late Mary Jeyamma Joseph, beloved father of Vasantha (Canada), Michel (Bank of Ceylon, Mannar), Gabriel (Canbera, Australia), Rev.Fr. Joel (Vanni), Rev.Sr. Ruparani (Madhu), father-in-law of Eustace (Canada), Sasi (Mannar), Rathini (Canbera, Australia), grandfather of Pragash & Shanthi (Canada), Pradeep & Nirusha (Mannar), Mitchel, Maurice & Eric (Canbera, Australia), brother of late Anthonypillai, late Catherine, late Anne, Ariyanayagam, Pakianather and late Jeevaratnam. KUMARASAMY - SIVAKUMARAN   (33 yrs) of Clock Tower Lane, Neeraviady, Jaffna, and 230, Pickerings Road, Kotahena, passed away on 18th December 2002. He is the youngest son of V.T. Kumarasamy (retired Postmaster) and Mrs. M.R. Kumarasamy (retired Staff Nurse, Govt. Hospital, Jaffna) and brother of Karananithy, Santhakumar, Kesavan (Germany) and brother-in-law of Sandarenu Shanthakumar. His funeral took place at   Jayaratne’s Funeral Parlour, according to Hindu rites at 4.30 p.m. on the same day, and was cremated at Kanatte Cemetery. We express our sincere gratitude to all those relations, friends and well-wishers who rendered immeasurable help, attended the funeral, and shared our grief, and sent messages of condolence, from far and near. PERERA - MERVYN WALTER   Dearly beloved husband of Gwyneth, loving father of Nicola and David, and Nigel, brother of Cissy Pinto and Ivy Jayasuriya, passed away peacefully in Cairns, Australia on 15th December 2002 after a short illness in hospital.   12, Inner Fairline Road, Dehiwala.

Relict of Hector Leslie Samaranayake, beloved mother of Monty, Rhonda, Renuka, Nicoli (Canada) & Sanjeeva (Mathammana D/C Mills), loving mother-in-law of Mohan Ranaweera, Roy Perera (Jetwing Travels), Priya Perera (Canada) & Naomali Basnayake, sister of the late Gerald & of Maxi Tillekeratne, sister-in-law of the late Lucille & Rita Tillekeratne, Cyril Samaranayake, Mrs. Vincent Perera & of Mrs. Fred Silva, grandmother of Ramneeth, Anushka, Jeshan, Amanda, Dimithri, Denham, Dinal, Christina, Chrysanthus (Canada), Jason & Joshua, expired. KURUPPU - LYNNE (Lucky)   (Teacher Pembroke Academy, Tiny Toys and Ladies College). Much loved sister of Mona, late Zuleika Lokuge, Russel, Christine and Aubrey (University of Peradeniya), sister-in-law of late Quintus Lokuge and Huge Seneviratne, loving aunt of Darshini, Lal and Anoushka, grand aunt of Shevan, expired.
