Horana boys receive a Boxing Ring Bodyline (Pvt) Ltd., recently donated a Boxing Ring to the Vidyaratne University College, Horana, encouraging the young students to take to boxing. The company a joint venture between mast Industries Inc., USA, Triump International Germany and MAS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., Sri Lanka, recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and the donation marked the social involvement of the company towards helping the young students of the area. Vidyaratne University College is a Non Governmental Boys School in Horana which assist youngsters who are deprived of continuing their education due to various factors. The Boxing Team of the school has achieved many National and International awards and is ranked among the best boxing teams in the country which enabled the Vidyaratne to become 2nd school in the country with a Boxing Ring. The Bodyline made the donation in recognition of the talent displayed by the students and realising the need for a Boxing Ring donated a sum of Rs. 250,000 for the construction of the Boxing Ring in par with the international standards.The company has also donated Rs. 100,000 worth equipment to encourage and nurture well trained boxers to the nation. Joint Managing Director of Bodyline - Dave Ranasinghe handed over the commemorative plaque of the Boxing Ring to Ven. Opalle Gnasisiri Thera, the Principal of the Vidyaratne University College. |
