Music - a hobby for Shane

Music and Business Management may not belong to a common frequency but to Shane Blok the two careers give him a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment.

A smart young solo pianist, Shane Blok plays regularly at the Hotel Lanka Oberoi during lunch time on Saturdays and Sundays, and as he tells us, occasionally at the London Grill, the fine dining restaurant. But his playing does not end there. He is a regular at other corporate functions and at weddings too. For someone young his repertoire is a wide range of music from the 1920's to the present day which includes not only classics and semi-classics but also evergreens, standards, waltzes, the golden oldies that are ideal sing-a-longs and of course contemporary pop and ballads. Check him out this week and you are bound to enjoy his selection of music.

One time an Air Lanka flight steward, Blok is now qualified in Business Management and Marketing and heads his own company which deals in office stationery and interior decor. When he is not involved with music and business the many faceted Shane steps out a sports track to represent the YMCA in Body Building Contests. But despite all this tense activity, Shane Blok loves his piano and enjoys his hobby immensely - playing the piano in a style that is Shane.
