Massive educational complex for Dasasil menis to come up

For the very first time, a national centre and an educational institute for dasasil menis will come up in a vast plot of land covering parts of Kelaniya, Kiribathgoda and Eriyawetiya, with financial aid and construction assistance from the Government of China, "Sunday Observer" learns.

The foundation-laying ceremony for the centre was held recently at an auspicious time with the participation of chief incumbent of the Colombo-Chilaw Chapter, Most Ven. Welamitiyawe Kusala Dhamma Thera, Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Jiang Kuingseng and the Buddhasasana, Constitutional Affairs and National Integration Minister W.J.M. Lokubandara. According to sources, the new centre will have an educational institute, library, auditorium and a hostel facilities for dasasil menis.

It was also emphasised at the ceremony that the famous Chinese monk Pahian's visit to Sri Lanka was also assisted to bloom Buddhism in the country and it was also similar with the incident of Bikkuni Devasara of China who was the first to establish a Bikkuni order in China which she took from Sri Lanka. The new national centre will be benefited for thousands of dasasil menis spread throughout the country (AG)
