Singer launches first cricket coaching camp in Jaffna

Singer, Sri Lanka in association with the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) launched the first of a series of coaching camps in Jaffna in the hope of bringing uniformity to coaching islandwide.

After an extensive training course during which the coaches were trained in advanced coaching techniques, 12 coaches were awarded the Level 1 certificate, leaving them better equipped to train tomorrow's talent.

Renowned for its fast bowlers, Jaffna is virtually an untapped source of talent as far as cricket is concerned and both coaches and public alike have applauded this joint effort.

Singer, Sri Lanka has contributed immensely to the local cricket scene with the launch of the Singer Cricket Schools and the Singha Pataw talent search.

The cricket schools numbering 22 are conducted for hardball players under the age of 13 and are aimed at cultivating their cricketing skills further. The 'Singha Pataw' talent search on the other hand is held in the under 15 and under 17 age groups and is aimed at finding the best talent in rural areas and providing them with the opportunity to play in pitches of international standard.
