Grant McCann, Leo Burnett bag top SLIM awards Grant McCann Erickson was named Agency of the Year at the SLIM Awards 2003 held recently. The award for the Print Ad of the Year too was won by Grants for the SriLankan Airlines' 'World of Festivals' advertisement. The most visible and glamorous marketing communication event in the country, SLIM Ad Awards is held annually to honour the advertising industry and is organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). Grants bagged 15 Golds, the highest number to be won by one agency, at the event while J Walter Thompson won 14 Golds. The Campaign of the Year award was won by Leo Burnett for 'Unreal Odel', the campaign for Odel Unlimited. The Radio Ad of the Year was won by LDB Lintas for 'Denda Hithenawa Wonderbar', the Ceylon Cold Stores campaign while the award for the Television Ad of the Year was won by Prime Advertising for the 'Color and Sri Lanka' campaign of the Development Lotteries Board. The event was organised by the SLIM for the 14th consecutive year and received 1,031 entries under the categories Main Marketing Communication Strategy and Integrated Marketing Communication Strategy. It was organised in association with the Accredited Advertising Agencies Association (Four A's). The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd was a joint sponsor of the event. |
