Tamil Nadu - Sri Lanka schools aquatic dual in August

Sri Lanka schools swimmers will participate at the second Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association (SLSASA) duel Age Group swimming championships to be held in Chennai in August.

The dual meet will be hosted by Justice P.S. Kailasam Medical and Educational Teachers Foundation Chennai said Dr. David Ponniah, Warden S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia and newly elected President of Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association.

Dr. Ponniah said that Chennai officials have been in contact with him regarding the meet and the possible date. The SLSASA will first get approval from the Ministry of Education for the five-day tour and then inform the Chennai authorities.

Last year, the inaugural meet was held at S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia swimming pool in October and the SLSASA won the overall title.

This year, too the same events for both boys and girls will be held in six age categories under-7, under-9, under-12, under-14, under-16 and under-19.

Sri Lanka schools swimmers will be selected from the performances at the Sri Lanka Schools Swimming and Diving Championships to be held from June 26 to 29 at the Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool.
