by LESLIE FERNANDO

The Interim Committee of the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka selected 26 players to train for the forthcoming 11th World Netball Championships to be held in July this year in Jamaica.

These 26 players were selected after several trials held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. The 'pool' will be pruned down to 18 after further trials to be held after the Sinhalese New Year.

The final 12 players will be picked in early May to make the trip for the World Championships. Despite selecting the players for the 'pool', a netball national coach has not been appointed.
