A thermal-imaging scanner is set up at Taipei Municipal Wan Fan Hospital on April 26, 2003. The fever sensing machine is to screen visitors as part of efforts to curb the spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome which has killed at least 276 worldwide and infected some 4,800. Ceasefire will hold : G.L. vetoes road blocks

There is no necessity to establish road blocks in Colombo or any other part of Sri Lanka; the ceasefire agreement entered into on February 22 by Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe and LTTE leader, Prabhakaran will stand, assured government's chief negotiator, Professor G. L. Peiris, on Friday.

Thermal scanner for BIA under fire
