Govt. steadfast despite LTTE decision By Chamikara Weerasinghe The LTTE's decision has changed neither the government's policy nor its focus on peace talks, Minister of Rehabilitation Resettlement and Refugees, Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena said. The minister maintained that the government was steadfast in its commitment to continue with the peace process to arrive at a political solution to end the war in the North and East through continued talks with the LTTE, with the assistance of the Norwegian government. "When we started the peace process, we knew that it was not going to be easy," he said and added, "peace tallks" are the most critical factor in the process. It is more difficult than fighting a war," he said. |
