Imexpro award for golf club stall

The Victoria Golf Club won an award for the Best Stall in the Service Sector category at the Imexpro Exhibition organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre recently.

The stall with a backdrop depicting the Victoria Golf Course included a floor space that resembled a lush golf green complete with its red flag. Visitors were also able to test their skills on a practice putting machine.

The Victoria Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course of international USGA standards and was designed by Donald Steel, world-renowned golf architect. The course was rated among the 100 most beautiful courses in the world by Golf Digest and is built overlooking the Victoria Reservoir.

A winner selected from non-members of the club who picked up a special offer voucher at the exhibition will receive one-year free membership to the club. The golf club offers other recreational facilities such as mountain biking, horse riding, nature trails, bird watching, swimming, fishing, canoeing and sailing.

A Junior Golf Summer Camp is held during July and August every year. Apart from three two-bedroom villas that are under construction, plans for a tennis court and swimming-pool are currently being finalised which will make it the first and only golf and country resort in Sri Lanka. Victoria also offers fantastic real-estate opportunities. Villa sites with views of the surrounding reservoir or the golf course, combined with the backdrop of the Knuckles range of mountains are available for development by individuals. Over 80 sites in other areas of the estate have already been sold, to buyers from Sri Lanka and abroad.

Opportunities are also available for hotel developers as the project has reserved some of the best sites and currently has Board of Investment approval for up to two hotels within its perimeters.

The Victoria Golf Club is owned by Rajawella Holdings Ltd.
