Muslims to settle for separate unit - Rauff Hakeem

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) high command will meet tomorrow morning in Colombo to discuss the latest political developments and to take important decisions concering the Muslims of the North and East, party sources said.

Yesterday SLMC leader and Minister Rauff Hakeem, hosted a dinner to envoys of Muslim countries at the Galadari Hotel at which he apprised the envoys of the political aspirations of Muslims and their stance with regard to the peace process. At the dinner, Minister Hakeem, also had said that under the peace pocess the Muslims would be willing to settle for separate unit of devolution, within a unified North-Eastern region, the souces further said.
