Army rugby powered by Dialog, GSM

Dialog, GSM will sponsor Army rugby football for the second consecutive year for 2003.

Speaking at the sponsorship ceremony, Chief Executive of Dialog, GSM Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, said: "Dialog is indeed privileged to once again support the Army rugby team, we are also proud to support, and be associated with the Sri Lanka Army rugby development programme which involves the training and development of players. We are confident that Army will live up to the high expectations of rugby fans across the country."

He went on to say that Dialog GSM was the first mobile phone operator to link mobile telephone consumers with the benefits of up-to-date sports information with the pioneering of cricket scores via SMS in 1999.

Mr. Nushad Perera, General Manager Sales and Marketing of Dialog, GSM stressed on the importance of long-term commercial sponsorship and the Army rugby programme will receive a new impetus as a result of the commercial sponsorship extended by Dialog, GSM. The sponsorship programme will include all local training schedules, workshops and championship matches conducted by the SLRFU.
