Police headquarters advises motorists to avoid certain roads which are impassable due to heavy rains in the Ratnapura area.

Ratnapura, Elapatha, Kotahamulla, Hangamuwa, Palawela, Dambuluwana, Karangoda, Muwagama, Godigamuwa, Badulla- Colombo road (near Ratnapura) are under six feet of water. Nivitigala and Kalawana town areas are completely under water and the Police headquarters issued a warning to residents closer to the Kalu Ganga to be vigilant.

Transport services have come to a standstill between Panadura and Ratnapura. Galatura-Ayagama road in Kiriella is also under water. (DPL)
