The Sri Lanka Institute of Printing (SLIOP), the major contributor in developing the printing industry of Sri Lanka, has been conducting highly recognized Digital Media Courses for Printing, Advertising and Graphics industry. About 500 students get training each year in those courses such as Digital Prepress, Page make up with QuarkXpress, Vector Graphic Applications, and Computer Graphic Design.

The certificate course in Digital Prepress is designed to upgrade skills in the printing field, for those with experience in the printing field, Prepress, and Graphics and those who pursue a career in printing.

The duration of the course is 32 weeks, 6 hours per week. 

The certificate course in Vector Graphic Applications is for those who pursue a career in graphics, advertising and multimedia related fields. This course covers using Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Freehand Packages to create vector graphic illustrations.

Duration of this course is 56 hours. 

The certificate course in Page make up in QuarkXpress is designed for those who are interested in Digital Page make up and Layout and pursuing a career in publishing, advertising, newspaper industry and printing related fields. Duration of this course is 49 hours.

The certificate course in Web-designing is designed for those who pursue a career in Internet, graphics, advertising and multimedia related fields.

The course covers HTML & DHTML, Macromedia Dream Weaver, Using Graphics in Web pages, introduction to 2D & 3D Animations, Macromedia Flash, and Multimedia for Web.  Evaluations show that these programs are effective and successful. Students who followed these courses at SLIOP secure employment with relative ease.

They are employed at a good salary in Sri Lanka and foreign countries.

Payment of these courses are very much less than other institutions and the course content is very rich and the practical time duration for each student is high. The certificates are highly recognized all over the world, not only in Sri Lanka.
