A young multi-instrumentalist who plays drums, Name: Deloraine Kenneth Fernando. His stage name is Billy. Trendy outfits: Not for me all that stuff! No I'm a simple guy. I love to hang out in running tracks, T-shirts and slippers. Comfort is my middle name!! Hair do's: AH! I love that dishellved hair look. That's my normal hair do. When I'm on stage it is a different act for me! Any embarrassing moment in your life: Yes this one haunts me. There was I supposed to act in a church drama. I got my lines just five minutes before I got on stage. The lines were not complicated. I was the King's manservant and I had to reply to his question, which was the cue for the next scene to commence, and gosh! I forgot my lines. I went off stage but had to come back. So I came on stage apologised to the audience and the next scene began! It was awful!! Fav music: I like Western classical and Indian high classical music. I'm into rock - pop rock and classic rock. I played percussion and trumpet in the Philharmonic Orchestra and I learnt O Level Grade VI in music. But bear in mind I listen to all varieties of music, and I enjoy the variety. Fav rap star: Will Smith. He is a kind of jocular rapper and he has a flair which keeps you rooted watching him. Qualities you like in a girl: She should be humble, down-to-earth, friendly and devoted. These same qualities I would like in my future wife. Do you believe in love at first sight: That's crap! Love at first sight - it's a fake thing. It's there and then it's gone. You have to get to know the person for more than a month or even a longer period if she is going to be your future partner in life. How much of a party guy are you: I don't like dancing like one sees normally. I enjoy myself dancing the jig much to, the delight of others. I'm a multi-faceted person! Are you superstitious: No. My faith is strong. God is real and I believe in Jesus. Are you religious in an extreme way: I'm trying my level best to follow the Bible. I belong to the Full Gospel Church. What's your pet hate: Coffins and funeral parlours. I stay away from them unless I'm compelled to pay my last respects. What makes you happy in life: I manufacture musical instruments and my goal in life is to make Tennyson guitars into a big commercial and recognised instrument. In my factory I have five guys working on the manufacture of guitars and in a month we turn out 30-40 guitars. We now handle a lot of repairs and also turn out custom-built guitars. All my creative talent is expressed in manufacturing guitars and it makes me happy. How many rude thoughts do you have in a day: That happens when I'm driving and I have to experience the inconsideration of other drivers. I put down the shutter and ask them whether they have a radio licence! When you are not playing a gig what keeps you awake at night: Normally I go to bed by 12.30 am I watch movies but most of all I chat with the family - something we look forward to. What other profession would you like to be in: Advertising. I enjoy the whole concept of this type of creative work. Your fav. food? Do you cook?: Rice and chillie hot curries as well as Nasi Goreng. Yes I can cook. I can make Kothu, cutlets and cook a dhall curry. Do you like to live dangerously: No. I'm quite a careful person. I don't like fast driving. I'm a type of person before leaving home I check on the stove, whether it has been knocked off, drive up the road and then come back again to check on it, to be doubly sure. Which product would you like to most endorse: Guitars or acoustic drums. If you could change anything about yourself what would it be: I'm Billy and I don't wish to change anything about myself because my identity as Billy won't be there and I want to remain as Billy, I like it this way. |
