Making waves that reflect their special artistry are the three outfits playing weekly at the JAIC Hilton - a venue now renowned for its fine cuisine and the best in music. The sophisticated folk group Flame led by the experienced guitarist Rienzie Pereira is featured weekly on Thursdays in an acoustic programme of the best in folk and soft rock music culled from the books of Simon and Garfunkel, Eagles, Bryan Adams and more. With no bass and drums, Flame create a quiet scenario - an ideal cool off evening. Comes along Friday and you have the exciting and swinging sounds of Jazz Projekt with Dilukshi Sirimane - keyboards, Revel Crake - guitar, Ray Gomes - bass and Refaai Thowfeek - drums. This is up market music that stretches from jazz to Latin with polished vocals that are new and refreshing each week. To round off your weekend pleasure is the versatile guitarist/vocalist Deva de Silva who is featured on Saturdays. Deva needs no introduction to our music scene. A lover of the music of the Beatles, Don McLean, Cat Stevens and leading artistes of the 60s-80s, Deva has, with his experience kept his audiences happy with his varied selections, vocals and guitar artistry. So make the dates with the outfits at the JAIC - and have your moments with their music. |
