'From Darkness to Light'

The talented singer Rohan Peiris recently released his debut CD and audio cassette of twelve inspirational songs entitled 'From Darkness to Light'. The launch which was held at St. Joseph's College, Colombo was graced by the Archbishop, His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis.

He praised the work of Rohan Pieris and commented that composition of inspirational songs based on Gospel teachings was laudable and said that in his opinion such songs are of great help to youth. He interestingly traced the history of music in general and church music in particular.

The Minister for Interior and Christian Affairs John Ameratunge, the guest of honour commended the use of modern technology for value building through Gospel songs. Rohan Peiris performed tracks from his CD backed by Cosmic Rays. The entertaining evening was compered by Dr. Vijaya Corea.
