Where are we heading ?

The Eksath Sinhala Maha Sabhawa lodged their strongest protest to the Ministry of Defence and the Sri Lanka Air Force for allowing LTTE Political Wing Leader, S.P. Thamilchelvam free use of an Air Force Helicopter for him to travel to Batticaloa from Kilinochchi and back.

This is unprecedented in the history of Sri Lanka's aviation policy. Will the Defence Ministry or SLAF allow this facility free to say a seriously ill citizen of this country from a distant place to be brought to Colombo for immediate medical treatment even if pleaded by the relatives? No, they will first insist on a colossal payment, if at all or they will point blank inform no Helicopters are available as all are on duty (probably serving the terrorists and may be some influential Government Politicians).

And what did the Thamilchelvam do? Addressing a large number of their cadres he had the audacity to announce publicly that the LTTE became famous and popular in the world because of their military prowess and gun-power. But let me tell, both the LTTE as well as the Government, that the former became famous due to the Government's weak and despicable attitude and their willingness to give in to all and sundry demands of the terrorists and certainly not due to the LTTE's battle power. But the regrettable and most unbecoming phenomenon is that the Government and SLAF are ever ready to bend backwards in two to appease the terrorists come what may. Why? The answer is simple.

Because we never had such a gutless, spineless and utterly disrespectful Government in our long history, than our present rulers.

Adding insult to injury, the so-called National Peace Council (which is in reality the seed sowing ground for spreading ethnic or communal disharmony), not only made a Press Statement to the Tamil Newspapers, but also shamelessly displayed Posters all over Colombo demanding all Sinhala Political Parties and the President and Prime Minister tender apologies to the Tamil Terrorists for the so-called 'Black July' incidents of July, 1983. What an extremist and thoroughly provocative call from an Organisation supposed to be dedicated to bring about peace in this terror torn Island?

We demand that the Tamil Terrorist leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran who has been sentenced to 200 years rigorous imprisonment in Sri Lanka be immediately arrested and brought to book and also extradited to India as he is wanted dead or alive being sentenced to death having been found guilty of the brutal murder of late Prime Minister, Shri Rajiv Gandhi. All baseless, false and fictitious propaganda carried on for and on behalf of the terrorists,to whitewash their barbaric, most inhuman and beastly killings and wanton destruction to valuable economic targets and property by both the Government of Sri Lanka and other NGOs should stop forth with.

The UNF Government who have failed miserably in their pre-election pledges to the masses of economic revival (giving opportunity to youth to wear golden bracelets, to eat chocolates and cakes, to wear stylish jeans and shoes etc etc and who boasted of plans to find employment to all unemployed if they are returned), restoring peace with honour, dignity and decorum and probing into various large-scale scandals of the previous regime should resign in shame and go home!
