Camp issue goes to Oslo Norwegian special envoy Erik Solheim had a further round of talks with government leaders on Friday before his departure on the same day. According to well-informed sources Solheim explained in detail the talks he had with LTTE political wing leader S.P. Thamilchelvan in Kilinochchi on Wednesday. The Norwegian special envoy who expressed concern over political killings purported to have been carried out by the LTTE and the Wan Ela camp issue. On the latter, the LTTE was adamant and refused to dismantle the camp claiming it was in the uncleared area. According to sources, Solheim will take up these issues with Deputy Foreign Minister Vidar Helgessan and other higher authorities before getting back to the government and the LTTE where he will inform them the Norwegian stand. |
