Unqualified school heads in a soup by Anjana Gamage Education Minister Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku has called for a full report regarding the appointments of unqualified school principals throughout the country, from the All Ceylon Principals' Union. According to a survey conducted out by the Union recently, has revealed that about 3000 school principals who come under provincial council schools and 27 of the national schools are not qualified to be in their posts. "The minister has asked for a report from the Union which is expected this week", a spokesman to the Education Ministry said. According to Ministry sources, there are 16,500 heads and deputies in 9876 schools. Meanwhile, 1110 schools, out of 9876 which come under provincial councils have been closed. |
