Record price for Evergreen tea

An invoice of Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe No: 1 grade tea from Evergreen Tea Factory, marketed under the Golden Garden mark, sold at Rs 905 per kilo, an all time high for the grade, at the Colombo Tea Auction held on September 24.

This tea was purchased by a leading exporter of Ceylon teas, Standard Trading Company Ltd and was marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities (Pvt) Ltd.

Evergreen, a factory known for its quality Ruhunu teas, is located at Horangalla, Talgaswela and is owned by Mr Aruna de Silva.
