IA counter proposals fine tuned in Dublin by Ananth Palakidnar The LTTE delegation headed by S.P.Thamilselvan which will leave for Ireland this week to finalise the counter proposals to the North-East interim administration will also discuss post-war rehabilitation and reconstruction at a separate meeting in Dublin from October 3 to 5. The legal and the Constitutional experts including former Attorney General Siva Pasupathi who were present at the first round of discussions held in Paris last month will sit again with Thamilselvan and his entourage to put the final touches, based on suggestions made by the LTTE supremo, sources said. According to sources the LTTE is very particular about the counter proposal as the international community is also waiting anxiously to see the outcome. Canadian and Irish experts on federalism and devolution of powers are expected to assist the LTTE meeting in Dublin. Participation of the LTTE theoretician Dr. Anton Balasingham at the Dublin meeting is yet to be confirmed, but according to sources Dr. Balasingham who is in London will be briefed on the entire proceedings. Dr. Jay Maheswaran, who was one of the LTTE negotiators at the Talks held so far, will chair the conference and the plans on rehabilitation and rehabilitation activities when an interim administration is set up are likely to be announced at this Dublin confab, sources said. |
