Angsana Spa at Crescat City

by Pelham Juriansz

September 11 marked the beginning of a relationship between Angsana Spa and Crescat Developments that will herald in the new Angsana City Club and Spa, a lifestyle leisure complex presently under construction.

The spa will be ready by the second quarter of 2004 and will be a part of the Crescat landscape.

The Angsana City Club and Spa will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Crescat with its management and operations coming under Angsana Spa, a part of Singapore's luxury hotel chain Banyan Tree. Angsana was created by Banyan Tree Holdings to diversify the group's business operations to other hospitality and spa management areas as well as to expand their interests in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Angsana City Club and Spa at Crescat City will consist of a 650 square metre spa, equipped with treatment rooms fitted with all modern amenities. It will also have its own 600 square metre gym, a large swimming-pool, two tennis courts, a lifestyle retail boutique known as the Angsana Gallery and a specialty restaurant serving health cuisine.

As a result of the tie-up with Crescat City, Angsana will bring in its expertise to create a thoroughly upmarket spa which will offer customers a contemporary holistic and non-clinical spa experience.

Angsana takes its name from a tall, tropical rainforest tree, which blooms suddenly with bursts of fragrant yellow flowers.

The Angsana Group also plans to expand its hotel operations in Sri Lanka. The hotel operation of Crescat City and the Angsana-managed resort would complement each other's businesses, the company said.
