Hong Kong awaits Cross Section

Off to Hong Kong in three days time to put music and dance lovers in a happy dancing mood is the popular band Cross Section with the acclaimed singer Antoinette de Alwis and the guitarist/singer Rodney to play at 'Lanka Nite' the well attended dinner dance to be held on Friday October 10.

The band has been kept busy these past few weeks playing for weddings, dances and club dances and when they return from Hong Kong the band will move into their active schedule of work which includes, to name a few, the dances of St. Anthony's Wattala, the prestigious Police Dance, St. Thomas' Gurutalawa, the Yacht Club Dance, the Benedictine Dance.

The wide repertoire of Cross Section was a big draw at the recent Supper Club Saturday night dance evenings which saw dancers enjoying their music till the early hours of dawn. The other members of Cross Section include keyboardists/singers Hilary Christie and Dilip Seneviratne, bassist Timal Jayamanne and drummer Raj Emmanuel.

With a wide and strong repertoire of pop hits latin, evergreens, cha chas, quicksteps and irresistible medleys of songs Cross Sections has endeared themselves to many a dancing fan. The festive season will keep the band busy to culminate in the much awaited New Year's Eve dance for which Cross Section will perform at Holiday Inn this year.
