After a break of two years the dance champions Anushan and Charnez are moving back into the dance scene, with the intent of giving demonstrations and involving themselves in competitions, The duo who have, from 1992, been consistently placed in the Finals of all International/Asia Pacific Championships, in Amateur Latin American and were four times Amateur Latin Dance Champions at other Championships held in Sri Lanka are happy that this comeback is going to open doors for further success in their dance career. In their twelve years of dancing as a duo with a forte for Latin American, they have won twelve major awards and have been featured in countless fascinating demonstration spots. "It is because of our commitment over the past years that we were able to achieve so much. Continuous practice is important. You cannot rehearse one month before a championship", says Charnez who is looking forward to their return on stage. Winners of the CADA Ten Dance Championships in '96 and '97 including the Amateur Latin American of the same years, Anushan and Charnez reveal that they will not be competing in the forthcoming CADA Championships although they have been National Amateur Latin American champions seven times over from 1989-1999. The CADA also nominated the duo to represent Sri Lanka at dance championships in Hungary and Scotland. In Tokyo and Bangkok they were semi-finalists. So watch out as Anushan and Charnez return to the dance stage to mesmerize you with their artistry. |
