Another Lankan win at Kazakstan

Seeking success in today's competitive music world is not an easy task more so if it is in the global scene.

The duo Charles Mark who clinched the third place at Azia Dauysy (Voice of Asia) competition held in Kazakstan from August 1-4 this year, are overjoyed that they won third place with three of their original songs at this festival of music which saw 85 entries from Asian countries including China, India, Malaysia and the Czech Republic.

The three songs of Charles Mark were 'Barefooted' (the concept and arrangement were by Ranga Dassanayake, while the lyrics were by Bertram Charles), 'Wanna Hold You' and the Sinhala song 'Surangana' composed by Rukshan Mark Lokuge. Gaining third place is a new beginning for Charles Mark who had their share of invitations for future needs. Most of all the duo are glad that they were able to meet with A. R. Rahman who personally commended them for their performances.

Encouraged by their success Charles Mark the duo are looking forward to more appearances in Sri Lanka.
