IA counter proposal before Deepavali by Ananth Palakidnar The second meeting convened by the LTTE to finalise the proposals on the Interim Administration for the North and the East will begin in the Irish capital, Dublin today. Informed sources said that the LTTE delegation headed by S.P. Thamilselvan would table the suggestions put forwarded by his leader Veluppilai Prabakaran and his aides in Vanni for the final decision on the IA proposals at the Dublin meeting today. It is the first time a senior member named Thamilvili of the Women's political wing of the LTTE has joined to deputise Thamilselvan at the discussions. Thamilvili was one of the members in the LTTE delegation that went on a tour studying the Federal system in certain European and Scandinavian countries recently. The LTTE delegation will return to Colombo on October 10 and the much awaited IA proposals will be handed over to the Government prior to the Deepavali festival later this month, sources said. The Norwegian facilitators Vidar Helgessen and Eric Solheim are expected to be in Colombo to officiate to receive their submissions.According to sources from Vanni the IA proposals finalised in Dublin are likely to highlight the ideas of the LTTE on a Federal system of administration in the North-East and the organisation will also go for further discussion on the proposals with the government if necessary. |
