All pace likely in Pakistan Sri Lanka at final

by RANJAN ANANDAPPA

Rain could be the ultimately decider if the present rain pattern prevails as calculators will come into operation when Sri Lanka takes on Pakistan in the Videocon Tri Series Emerging Trophy final to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Khettarama at 10 a.m. today.

The three nations, host Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India played two games against each other on a round-robin basis with bad weather intervening in some games and the final analysis summed up to a Sri Lanka-Pakistan final.

The Sri Lankan Emerging Team should go for an all pace attack in their game against Pakistan. Praneeth Jayasundera, Tharanga Lakshitha, Ferveez Maharoof were impressive in their penultimate game against Pakistan.

The Pakistanis, too, have a fine seam attack comprising Yasir Arafath, Fahad Masood and Qaier Abbas.
