A debut CD from Don Sherman

A growing interest in young musicians and singers to work on original compositions has prompted singer Don Sherman to release his debut CD 'Mang Hondai' which contains sixteen tracks.

The title song, he tells us was composed and written by Roshan Fernando of Fish Back, and reaches out to children, but also makes adults reminisce about their childhood. Others who assisted him in composing songs were Dileepa of Gypsies, Nalin of Marians and Ajith of Galaxys. Lyrics were written by Hemasiri Halpita, Wasantha Dukgannarala, Avantha, Ayodya and Chaturi. The songs are scheduled for regular airplay. Don Sherman who presents TV programmes, is currently, according to him, hosting a radio programme on Sirisa FM, titled Sirasa Mix Chart on Saturdays.

A product of Maris Stella College, Negombo Don Sherman was active in western music when in school. A member of the College Western music band he studied Western music as a subject at school and after he finished his A/Levels formed the band Zeero 5.

The lead vocalist and drummer of Zeero 5 Don Sherman found some success but disbanded soon after to join Galaxys as their western music singer and stayed with them for a period of five years.
