As part of the celebrations of its Library Anniversary Celebrations 2003, the Trans Asia, Colombo invited guests to the cocktails on Tuesday the 21st in the Kings Court for the selection of Model of the Universe. It was billed as a celebration of Beauty and Talent.

Franchise Director for Model of the Universe, Chairman, Celsin Ltd., Sebastian Perera was Chairman of the Board of Judges. 'Seba' as he is popularly known has judged numerous international pageants in several countries abroad and locally as well.

Achala Dwoshini was selected as Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Model of the Universe 2003, with Nuwanthi Somathilaka as First runner-up and Ashana Dedigama as second runner-up. At the earlier Miss Swimsuit contest the winner was Sadina Ishangi Unwaththa with Sanika Nilmini as first runner-up and Monika Disanayake as second runner-up.

The winner of the Miss Personality contest was Ashana Dedigama with Achala Dwoshini as the first runner-up and Lakmali Madubashini Herath as second runner-up.

The winner of Miss Photogenic was Nadisha Arsamarakala.
