Warm welcome for PM at Kirinde

The whole community of the multi-ethnic fishing township of Kirinde turned out yesterday to give visiting Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe a warm welcome.

The Premier made a visit to this fishing village, in the Hambantota District on the invitation of Co-operative Minister A. R. M. Abdul Cader.

During his short stay PM visited the Hambantota Harbour to inspect the Harbour premises and met a section of the community.

Mr. Wickremesinghe also visited the Kirinde Muslim Jumma Mosque to meet the Muslim community and look into their problems.

Baby Uditha needs help

Baby Uditha Shanal of 1038/2, Maradana Road, Borella, Colombo 8, is suffering from an acute heart ailment-at present.

Cardiologist Dr. P. A. Gunaratne, Sri Jayewardanapura Hospital, Kotte has recommended that an operation costing Rs. 160,000 be performed within six months to save the life of the patient.

Mrs. Wasantha de Silva, the mother finds it difficult to foot the medical expenses due to needy circumstances. Those desirous of contributing to this worthy cause, are requested to remit their contributions to People's Bank, Borella Branch A/C No. 0320207 021485-9.

Financial assistance needed

Two and half years old girl, L. N. Seneviratne of Nallawatta Rd., Maharagama is suffering from an acute heart ailment and Dr. A. G. Jayakrishnan, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon has recommended urgent surgery to save her life. The cost of surgery is estimated at Rs. 208,000.

Her father K. S. Seneviratne says that he is unable to meet this bill due to his present economic plight and requests financial assistance from generous public to meet the medical bill and save his daughter's life.
