Sumathipala to appear in court

Thilanga Sumathipala - President, Sri Lanka Cricket and chairman Sri Lanka Telecom vehemently denies that a court order has been issued for his arrest.

He says that only a letter has been issued by the Attorney General directing that he be taken into custody and produced in court.Sumapathipla says that though some media reports state that he has gone into hiding, there is nothing like that and he is prepared to face any issue and seek justice before court.

Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Sumathipala went on to say that it is regrettable that on the eve of the commencement of the England and Sri Lanka Test series this issue has cropped up regardless of the damage to the country.

Sumathipala says that he has already gone to the CID and made statements and has assured all concerned that he would go before court next week to seek justice. He denies any involvement with the underworld character who is supposed to have travelled to the UK as published in certain newspapers.
