"He was also a businessman dealing in gems and we kept his house under surveillance for some time." The suspect's wife and two accomplices including a threewheeler scooter driver were also arrested. Jayasundera said that there are 54 drug barons in the country and they are keeping a close tab on them. Meanwhile three police teams have been deployed to monitor the flow of heroin to Sri Lanka from neighbouring countries. The arrested drug baron will be kept under detention for interrogation before being produced in court, police said. |
