CIMA spotlights Nayantara's achievement

In its report for 2002, CIMA Sri Lanka spotlighted the achievement of a young Sri Lankan woman, Nayantara Jayaratne whose experiences in implementing resource accounting and budgeting within government departments in the United Kingdom got her an appointment as Head of the Financial Services Unit in the Cabinet Office.

In 1999, Nayantara assumed overall responsibility of the department which is at the heart of the government alongside the Prime Minister's Office and the Treasury.

She holds a MBA (special pass - 1990), from the University of Colombo. Her local government accounting and finance career spans the sectors of Engineering and Roadworks, Schools and Education Services and Housing and Building-related Professional Services.

She is the daughter of Karunatilleke and Daya Jayaratne of Dehiwela, and is a Past Pupil of Bishop's College, Colombo.
